はがきや8×10 inchの作品を制作します。期間中にコロタイプ工房（写真工房・製版室・印刷室）を見学し、コロタイプの原理や新しい技術について理解を深めます。また、コロタイプティシュー（版）の作り方、露光・現像のプロセスを習得します。講師からアドバイスを受けながら刷りを進め、作業の進行状況に合わせて、モニター上での画像レタッチや、プリントのスポッティングにも挑戦します。

※備考
・環境や人体に負荷のないDAS感光剤を用いた版を使います。安心してご参加ください。
・製版準備の都合上、作品にしたい写真画像を開催の３週間前までに提出していただきます。
・油性のインキを使用しますので、当日はよごれてもよい服装でご参加ください。
・エプロン、手を拭くタオル、昼食をお持ちください。

5-DAY COURSE

During the course, you will be able to make prints in postcard size to 8×10-inch format. You will be taken on a special tour of Benrido’s Collotype Atelier, including our photography studio, plate-making and printing studio in order to understand the traditional collotype method and the new process (collotype tissue). 

After learning the platemaking, exposure and deve-lopment processes, you will be able to make prints using multiple plates, with guidance from the instructor. Depending on your progress, you might have some time to challenge yourself by retouching the original negative, spot-retouching on your prints by using both traditional and digital techniques.

*Note:
– Benrido Collotype Academy will be using a new process of plate making developed from the traditional glass plate. Participants will learn to use this new process which uses a monochrome negative (collotype tissue) as the plate for printing. This collotype tissue provides the base where the negative can be coated with the gelatin solution, infused with the DAS-Photosensitizer that is nontoxic to the human body and the environment.
– You will need to submit your image data to us at least three week before the course starts, in order for us to do preparations.
– Please come wearing clothes you can get dirty in.
– Please bring your own apron, towel for hand-wiping and packed lunch.
